About Cascade
Cascade is the site of a former ranch post office in the Sandhills of southeastern Cherry County, about 14 miles east-southeast of Brownlee and 10 miles northwest of Purdum. Nothing of it is known to remain.
History
The Cascade post office ran from 1899 to 1955. J. F. Keller suggested the name; John F. Keller (1885–1971), born on the Keller Ranch homestead, ran his ranch "at Cascade," moved to Valentine in 1947 and was later active in the Cherry County Historical Society.
